Disqus, pronunced discuss is a service to handle comments and threads about comments, I heard of it some time ago and have hit it from time to time yet I hadn’t pay much attention to it so far. s no

Now I have just signedup there with my openid and decided to give it a try on my blog, it’s not that I get too many comments but it may be easier to handle the rare comments on this install since I don’t run a MTA on valkertown and sometimes I let the comments pass some time without approving them.

From the commenter perspective maybe it’s easier to know when I have answered their comments and have a more lively conversation with them, I really like speaking with the people that’s interested on anything that I blog about

Let’s see if I can integrate some kind of notification from disqus to a identi.ca feed, it would be really nice, also maybe I can get to answer directly from identi.ca. Let’s see what happens.

Well, from now on I’m going to open valkertown’s jabber server for public registration, will try to do my
best with this service but if it causes too much troubles I will close it again. It’s located at valkertown.org and you should use a jabber client to register the new account there

With time if it’s worth it I would set an public statistics page.

It features:

• Ejabberd server
• MSN transport
• MUC Rooms
• IRC transport (only to servers that runs on the standard irc port)

There’s a couple of conference rooms that are always there:

• general@conference.valkertown.org
• gclap@conference.valkertown.org.

While I have been runnign this server for some time now, I’m kinda new with open jabber servers so I would be happy to hear any tips or help to prevent abuse.

The server supports also http-bind (BOSH) method via https://www.valkertown.org/http-bind/

I’m trying to setup a good browser based http-bind client and host it here at valkertown but I think jwchat is horrible and haven’t been able to make webspark work with valkertown’s ejabberd. So if you know any good client that I could host here let me know.

I’m folllowing with great interest the people from chesspark and speeqe since they seem to have a great browser bosh client. So far they only have published the tools they created for the clients but those looks really promising.

Bueno me tome el trabajo de corregir todos los tags para uno y cada uno de los envios que he realizado hasta el día de hoy, me di cuenta de algunos errores que hay de la migración de blogsome a mi propio dominio, esto es algo viejo ya.

Tambien me recordo un viejo programita que utilizaba mucho cuando usaba el puerto serie con más frecuencía, voy a revivirlo como un repo git.

Bueno acabo de terminar el repositorio público de valkertown.

La Lista de Repositorios, la escribi utilizando gitpython y Django.

Por el momento hay dos repositorios e ire añadiendo y anunciando nuevos.

El primero es Aura, un programita inspirado en cdargs para manejar destinos favoritos de ssh y tener una terminal dedicada a la sesión de ssh.

El segundo es mi repo de awesome, el manejador de ventanas con la modificacion que le he tenido que hacer para que me funcionara en slackware 12.0, a ver como me va en slackware 12.1.

He escrito algunas cosas en mi .awesomerc.lua y algunas aplicaciones asociadas que pronto estarán disponibles en algún repo.

Bueno he actualizado el tema del blog a BlackMinimalism 2.0, con mis propias modificaciones personales.

Espero que ahora se vea mejor el blog en explorer.

Bueno acabo de terminar la guia de como arme el sitio de valkertown en muse.

Esta en ingles y espero haberla escrito en una forma clara y lo más
general posible, se tratan de las ideas concretas que mantienen la
página.

Bueno he empezado la creacion de un sitio estático para
Valkertown cosa que me agrada
mucho.

Para manejar y escribir el contenido estoy utilizando emacs-muse, y
hasta ahora ha resultado genial, todo funciona perfectamente y se
publican todos los cambios automaticamente utilizando tramp.

El CSS de esa página esta autorizado por sabbath y dure un rato escogiendolo
me gusta por lo simple y no creo que llegue a estar tan cargado de imagenes
como el blog.

En los proximos dias voy a cambiar el banner del blog. El de roma no duro
tanto y este de venecia se ha apoderado del espacio. Creo que el proximo
será de Pizza o Mexico, ya veremos…

Eso es todo por ahora.

Bueno, desde hace eones deje de utilizar mi cuenta de yahoo, ahora
flickr requiere que mezcle mi cuenta de yahoo con mi cuenta
“old-skool” de Flickr. Llevo ya un rato intentando hacer dicha mezcla
y no lo he logrado, al final ya estoy harto y no lo he logrado.

Tengo algunas fotos en mi cuenta vieja y va a ser molesto moverme a
una cuenta cuenta nueva pero ya estoy muy acostumbrado a que las cosas
funcionen.

Offline utilizo Picasa para todo, aunque utiliza wine para funcionar
en Linux, funciona las mil maravillas, lo unico feo son todos los
widgets que se asemejan a Windows. Desafortunadamente no veo ningún
servicio online para compartir fotos asociado a google. ¿Será que no me se
el nombre?

Al final dejo aqui una nota en el blog para ver si alguien se anima y
me muestra que utiliza, facebook quiza? Nunca lo he utilizado, voy a
ver que usa mi hermano, creo haberle visto algo en el blog.

Quedo debiendo screenshots de casi todo hasta que encuentre un
servicio apropiado, además me gustaria subir algunas fotillos de los
viajes que he realizado. En fin… necesito ayuda con esto.

Bueno, por fin me decidi a registrar mi dominio y aqui me he mudado con todo y blog.

La imagen del banner es Venecia, una preciosa ciudad invadida de turistas XD.

En la pagina del Acerca de…, esta una imagen mia con dos sujetos muy particulares, bastante divertido me parecio.
